Min vän Kyo har sedan flera år tillbaka varit den stora Paxi-ambassadören i Japan och världen. Han har spridit Paxi i alla dess former och nu har han till och med öppnat en restaurang. Men, vad är Paxi? Kyo förklarar själv, exklusivt för quistbergh.se, det hela såhär:

"Paxi is a word which comes from joining 'pax' and 'I' together, and is pronounced as pak-chee. 'Pax' means 'peace' in Latin, and 'I' symbolises 'people'.

The paxi project is an interesting and significant one in that we try to achieve peace by using worldwide spread of the herb paxi.

Paxi (Phakchi in Thai, Coriander in English, Koriander in swedish, Dhanya in Hindi, Cilantro in Spanish...) is an annual herb in the family Apiaceae, and is popular in Southeast Asian cooking nowadays. Its distinctive taste is well known as, for some, an unpleasant 'soapy' taste or a rank smell, and for others, as fascinating flavour. It slowly begins to acquire a following among travelers and those who want to appreciate different cultures. Many people encounter phakchi through traveling and international exchanges, and for them phakchi is a symbol of exotic atomosphere.
